Cold Country

I was heading home in mid December driving along Highway 2 It was cold and it was a long ride home
We didn’t have very long to go, Ice on the road so we took slow Montana, you’re an unforgiving tundra

The semi up ahead of us hit some ice and then I cussed when his tail fished around in front
I tried to stop and pumped my breaks but those slick roads took us straight so I tried slip passed and take her home

Chorus:
Montana, you’re a cold, cold country
An unforgiving place, I’ll never leave

I want to say we made it home and cracked a beer that was nice and cold and settled down by the fire for the night
Then we send the kids off to their beds finished the last of our drinks and have a little fun when we turn out the lights

But we never did make it home, A steel mess covered in snow it wasn’t long before my dad got the call
The worse thing a dad can do is bury his son and his family, too and every now and then he visits our head stones

Chorus:
Montana, you’re a cold, cold country
An unforgiving place, I’ll never leave

Well way up north where I come from the winters are harsh with little sun the wind can blind you with the snow
If you’re heading way up north on the highway as you go you’ll see too many crosses on road

Chorus:
Montana, you’re a cold, cold country
An unforgiving place, I’ll never leave
Montana, you’re a cold, cold country
An unforgiving place, I’ll never leave

Fox and a Hound

Fox and a Hound

I’ve been chasing you around
Like a fox and a hound
I gave you signs
Trying to tell you, you were mine
But you turned me down
When I thought I was glory bound
That wont stop me
From loving you

I would wink at you
You would wink at me too
I would tell you were mine
You said, “Your out of your mind”
Well you don’t know what you’re missin’
We could be kissin’
That wont stop me
From loving you

BREAK:

I would turn away and leave
You would crawl back to me
You’d tell me it’s fate
Even though it’s too late
I offered you romance
But you blew your chance
That wont stop me
From loving you

BREAK:

I’ve been chasing you around
Like a fox and a hound
I gave you signs
Trying to tell you, you were mine
But you turned me down
When I thought I was glory bound
That wont stop me
From loving you

I Know It's Wrong

My Head’s splitting
In the morning light
Let’s go again, I know it’s not right
One more hit
Don’t need the pain around
How else do I push the trauma down?

Chorus:
Like a freight train
Smash into my skull
A blast of euphoria through my veins
I know it’s wrong
I know I let you down
Give me time and I’ll be six feet in the ground

Don’t look at me
with those judging eyes
If I could stop, don’t you think I would?
Just go away
don’t need you now
My skin crawls for another round

Chorus:
It’s like a freight train
smash into my skull
Blast of euphoria through my veins
I know it’s wrong
I know I let you down
Give me time and I might come back around

Instrumental break

I lived times
where my friends have died
I saw the light fade from their eyes
The cold truth
I want to run and hide
Hold me close as I come down from this ride

Chorus:

Like a freight train
Smash into my skull
A blast of euphoria through my veins
I know it’s wrong
You never let me down
You gave me time, I slipped, my headstones’ on the ground

Instrumental: Chorus

Chorus:
Like a freight train
Smash into my skull
A blast of euphoria through my veins
I know it’s wrong
You never let me down
You gave me time, I slipped, my headstones’ on the ground
